PAINTING IMMERSES me in another world, one that I travel freely without a ticket.
I paint what I know. Warm and glowing travel trailers from wet camping trips, light evaporating under tall cedars, or cityscapes of the quickly changing Seattle skyline. I am not pinned down to one subject matter or style…my work is a process where I pull up memories and translate them with paint. One consistency in my work is the transparency of the narrative. The viewer can see a path partly erased or a mystery slightly revealed. I like to invite new discoveries in my paintings long after they have gone home.
